In a smart city various sensors are used to collect data about the city such as traffic, weather, energy usage, and public utilities. This data is then analyzed to improve the quality of life for residents and optimize the use of the city's resources

RDSC (Research & Development for Smart City) focuses on developing innovative solutions to improve urban living through the use of technology. It involves research, data analysis, and the application of emerging technologies like IoT, AI, and Big Data to enhance city infrastructure, services, and sustainability. RDSC aims to create smarter cities by improving efficiency, resource management, and the overall quality of life for residents

Associate Professor Dr. Tharawut Boonlue, representing the Research and Development Center for City Solutions (RDSC), was honored with the Best Education Partner Award 2024 at the Geospatial Intelligence Software Technology Conference held in Beijing, China.
The award recognizes exceptional contributions to academic collaboration, capacity building, and the promotion of geospatial education through advanced software technology and international knowledge exchange.
