A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Mahasarakham University's Research and Development for Smart City (RDSC) unit, Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Creative Arts, and Interconnect Solution Co., Ltd. Assistant Professor Jarunee Nimitthasiriwat, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Creative Arts, and Mr. Kantapat Lueangcharoenwattana, Managing Director of Interconnect Solution Co., Ltd., represented both parties in signing the MOU. The collaboration focuses on research and development of knowledge in smart city management, utilizing SuperMap GIS Technology software and a City Data Platform (CDP) to create a centralized platform and applications for managing planned smart city growth. This will help solve problems and promote appropriate planning tailored to the needs of both administrators and residents. Furthermore, training courses and knowledge dissemination in centralized smart city development will be provided to interested organizations and individuals.
The ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Prayuk Srivilai, Acting President of Mahasarakham University, who also witnessed the signing. The agreement outlines policies and collaborative work guidelines, emphasizing leadership in Smart City development to support local communities and various organizations. Importantly, the university aims to be a leader in Smart University development, becoming a leading Asian university in utilizing technology to support teaching and learning, and providing data for faculty, students, and the general public to use effectively. Associate Professor Dr. Tharawut Boonlue, Head of the Research and Development for Smart City Unit (RDSC), accepted the policy and pledged to develop a concrete link between MSU 3D Visualization and the seven Smart City areas. The event took place on April 24, 2024, in room AR 116, 1st floor, Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Creative Arts Building, Mahasarakham University.
