Mahasarakham University (MSU), the only representative from Thailand, won 3rd place on the global stage in China with its AI-powered smart city planning innovation, SCPP–RDSC. The SCPP–RDSC team from Mahasarakham University gained international recognition as the sole representative from Thailand by winning 3rd place at the international innovation competition “AI for All: China–ASEAN Super League” in Nanning, China. The competition featured more than 10,000 teams from universities across China and ASEAN countries.The team presented the Smart City Planning Platform (SCPP), an AI and GIS-based platform designed for smart urban planning and already implemented in Mahasarakham. The project was led by Associate Professor Dr. Tarawut Boonlua, together with a team of faculty members and students. This achievement highlights the strong potential of the RDSC research unit, which has won international awards for three consecutive years. The team remains committed to advancing urban management through cutting-edge technology for the future of Thailand and the ASEAN region.
