depa Transforms Cities with Data! Launches “City Data Platform” Forum at Thailand Smart City Expo 2025
The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), represented by Mr. Pichakorn Watcharanurak, Assistant Director of the Digital Platform and Service Promotion Division, and his team, organized the “City Data Platform: Showcase of Leading National City Data Platforms” forum at the Thailand Smart City Expo 2025, held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

The forum brought together leading speakers from both the public and private sectors, including:
- Mr. Chumpol Leikbangplad (Head of City Data Group, City Data Technology Center, Geographic Information System Office, Department of City Planning and Development) (Bangkok)
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tharawut Boonlue (Head of the Research and Development Unit for Smart Cities (RDSC), Mahasarakham University)
- Ms. Kalyanee Pornpatanakulthong (Director of Geospatial Innovation and Smart City Division, ESRI (Thailand) Co., Ltd.)

This seminar aimed to present the advancements in the development of City Data Platforms and share successful case studies from leading cities that have successfully integrated data from both the public and private sectors, such as transportation, safety, and environment, as well as population and transient population data, to help improve urban management and make more accurate policy decisions.
